In the study, men were asked to estimate a woman’s weight while she wore a scarf, sometimes saturated with perfume. Floral and spice combinations, in particular, caused them to guess approximately 12 pounds below the actual weight. The fragrances seemed to have a profound effect on size perception. The results suggest that wearing perfume not only makes you smell good, but it also takes off a few pounds.
