Drew Barrymore is the latest face and spokeswoman of CoverGirl cosmetics. She is following in the footsteps of renowned beauties like Queen Latifah, Molly Sims and Rihanna.
The Procter & Gamble beauty brand announced the endorsement deal on Wednesday at a news conference in Los Angeles. Not only will the supermodel face the ad campaign, she will be the co-creator of the ads too. She will also be consulted for concept, graphics, lighting and how the photo would be cropped.
The 32-year-old ‘Charlie’s Angels’ actress said,
I leave the makeup and product up to them, that’s their expertise. What I want to do is honor the tradition of CoverGirl but hopefully bring myself and my personality into it, as well as some edgy fashion-forward thinking and positivity to it.
Barrymore will be seen in a nude-colored dress, which, she explains is a contrast to the bright colors generally used in cosmetics ads.
Esi Eggleston Bracey, vice president and general manager of CoverGirl Cosmetics North America said,
We partnered with Drew because she emulates the iconic image of CoverGirl with her fresh, natural beauty and energetic yet authentic spirit.
